Présentation

Description

The Museum, housed in the former courthouse, spans three floors. Its collections are numerous and varied: military artifacts from the Vosges front during the First World War (1914-1918), the Resistance networks in Alsace and the liberation of the valley in 1944-1945, religious objects from the 15th to the 19th centuries, the textile industry and the history of the Valley, Alsatian seals and coins, artifacts from the oldest glassworks in Upper Alsace, established in Wildenstein in 1699, the crafts industry of yesteryear and the bygone trades, schoolchildren before 1914, the snows of long ago, the firefighters.

Horaires

May 1 - September 30: 2 pm- 6 pm daily except Tuesdays. Group visits the year round on request.

    The Hartmannswillerkopf Franco-German Historial of the Great War is a multifaceted tool, having both historical and a tourist elements, as well as being a memorial, and above all an educational resource.
    The Historial offers a broad view of events during the 1st World War, nevertheless leaving centre stage to Hartmannswillerkopf – Vieil Armand, in order to act as a link with the site and the neighbouring national monument and to enable visitors to understand it better.
