The term Greeter means “host” or “welcoming committee” in English. A greeter is an inhabitant of a city, of a territory, who agrees to spend a few hours with a visitor to show him "his" territory. Appeared in New York in the early 90s, around thirty cities around the world are now members of the Global Greeter Network, the international network of greeters.
