Forestry work

Here are the forestry works that were reported to us by the ONF in the Munster Valley:

July 1: The red easel path between the place called Km12 on the Schlucht road and the La Marseillaise monument is open again, the work having been completed.

Diversion to Herrenberg

June 11: Upcoming logging in the Herrenberg State Forest. This is plot 28 on the attached map. To reach the Herrenberg Pass from Mittlach, we advise you to stay on the red rectangle GR5 (marked in blue) and avoid the Red-White-Red variant (marked in red). However, the risks due to logging are minimal because the trees are more than 60m from the trail.

Wolfgasse-Mittlach bypass

May 23: Forestry work is underway on the Red-White-Red Trail between Wolfgasse (opposite the Steinabruck car park between Mittlach and Metzeral) and the upper reaches of Mittlach, passing by the Oak Millet cemetery. Also affected are the yellow disc that runs from Mittlach to Schnepfenried, the Hare Trail, and the Mittlach Alpine Ambulance circuit on this section.

See red line on the map opposite.

Detour via the paved road to Mittlach (or via the path that passes towards the Wormsa bear) or via the blue disc to reach Schnepfenried from Wolfgasse

April 26: The blue cross trail leading to Steinwasen via Kolben will be closed for logging. Take the yellow disc leading from Kolben to the ridge.

Work is taking place on the communal thatch of Gustermatt between the Lauchenkopf and the Col du Hilsenfirst (GR532 yellow rectangle) from the Monday, January 27, 2025 until the end of the work (scheduled for June 30). Traffic is prohibited there by order of the municipality of Linthal of January 23, 2025.
