Transhumance festival

Langue parlée - Allemand Langue parlée - Anglais Parking

Description : Twice a year, the beautiful setting of the Vallée de Munster is the scene of a long-awaited festival: the transhumance of a few herds returning to the valley after a summer on the mountain. The biggest festival in the Vosges mountains! A great opportunity to get to know the Vosges breed of cows, in the spotlight on this occasion. As is customary, the famous clarines, polished for this special day, are hung around the animals' necks... So don't miss the chance to take part in an amazing folkloric show, and spend a pleasant moment with your family in the heart of this beautiful Alsatian valley. At the end of the day, you'll be able to enjoy the most beautiful views of the Vosges mountains. Many farm inns are taking part in this major event, but only the Ferme-auberge du Firstmiss (03 29 63 26 13) lets you accompany the herd all the way to MUHLBACH. There are two possibilities: - Depart at 10am from the Firstmiss farm inn (which will be closed that day) or join the herd at around 1:30pm at Le Gaschney to complete the descent to Muhlbach. Expected arrival around 2:30 pm. - From Muhlbach, at around 3pm, accompany the herd from Ferme du Treh to its winter quarters in Hohrod (enivron 1h30 walk). Please note that there is no shuttle service to Le Gaschney or the Firstmiss farmhouse. However, you can contact the Munster Valley cab company. 6 parking spaces will be set up for motorhomes. The pitches are free, self-contained (no water or electricity), and no reservations are required. The pitches are free of charge. 5 catering outlets will be organized. Lunch (complete) and dinner are organized and prepared by the service provider Neo-event. Reservations must be made at the following e-mail address: compta-groupe@neo-event.fr Be smart, come by train! Exceptionally, the railway line between Colmar and Muhlbach-sur-Munster is being offered at a special rate of €3 on this day. Forget the hassle of parking and enjoy the scenery on the way!
