The Munster Valley offers vast spaces ideal for exploring with your four-legged friend. However, be sure to respect local biodiversity by finding out in advance which areas are accessible to dogs. Walks on the ridges are permitted, but your dog must be kept on a leash to preserve the surrounding flora and fauna. It is also essential to stay on the marked trails, any exit outside of these routes being strictly prohibited.
During hunting periods, make sure you know the areas and days of hunting, and adapt your walks accordingly to ensure everyone's safety. Only the Sentier des Roches is strictly prohibited for dogs, it is a narrow path that sometimes runs along the mountainside. The direction of traffic is two-way, it is sometimes difficult to pass each other on the path during busy periods.
However, dogs must be kept on a leash throughout the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park and especially in the Frankenthal-Missheimle Nature Reserve where dogs must be kept on a leash.

The Munster Valley has 4 winter sports resorts. The ski, ski touring and cross-country ski trails are not permitted for dogs, remember to find out where they are before going for a walk.
If you go for a walk around the lacs, do not walk your dog on ice, the ice may be thinner than it appears and could crack under your dog's weight.
If your dog is chilly, you can put a coat to keep it warm.
