Munster Cheese: A Treasure of the Valley

Munster cheese is much more than just a local specialty; it is a true emblem of the Munster valley and a gastronomic treasure of the Alsace region.
Made for centuries using traditional methods, this soft-paste cheese and washed rind is renowned for its unique taste and strong character.

Produced from raw cow's milk, Munster takes its name from the eponymous valley where it is carefully produced. The cows that provide the milk graze in the green meadows of the Vosges, which gives the cheese rich and authentic aromas. The maturation of Munster, which lasts several weeks, is made in humid cellars where the cheese is regularly washed in salt water, thus developing its characteristic orange rind and intense aroma.

Munster cheese can be enjoyed in many ways: at the end of a meal with a piece of fresh bread, melted in traditional dishes such as tarte flambée, or accompanied by potatoes and onions for a typically Alsatian culinary experience. For a perfect combination, it pairs wonderfully with a dry white wine from Alsace, such as a Riesling or a Gewurztraminer.

Come and discover Munster cheese and let yourself be seduced by its inimitable taste and its rich history, a true reflection of the land and traditions of the Munster valley.
